Maine Update

Trill’s brother Ben has joined him on the trail at Stratton, ME and will hike with him to Monson.  From there, Trill will have the 100-mile Wilderness and the climb up Katahdin on his own.  Almost there!  Ben normally does the  updating to this site so you may have a few days of slow news [...]

The Way Life Should Be

Something happened yesterday. I was hiking all alone and I turned a corner and stopped. I just sat there for about 20 minutes without saying anything. The sun was setting and all I could hear was the little noises of the woods. There was a sign that said, “Welcome to MAINE”. I had made it. [...]

Can You Say Moosilauke?

Trill called yesterday to tell us he was on Mt. Moosilauke.  He said he was above the tree line, had 40 feet visibility and the wind was blowing constantly at 60 mph…..and he was having a great time!  He was hiding behind a stone wall just so we could hear him.
His hiking buddy Allgood has [...]

Encouragement

Trill was recently quoted in a Note of Encouragement from Ciloa.org.  Chuck (trailname: Stryder) uses some of Trill’s thoughts and feelings on what it is like to hike the AT to relate to how we can and do look at life’s journey.   One interesting quote from the Note:
Solomon once wrote, Two are better than one, [...]

Random Photos

Trill sent these photos along with his last update, but didn’t include any descriptions.  I can only assume the one of the roof has the infamous “Whites” in the background.  The rest I guess are fairly self explanatory.

Cheddar and Syrup.

That is what people think Vermont has to offer. They call it the green state. Let me tell you it is VERY green. I’ve really enjoyed hiking in this state. Constantly surrounded by dense forests with spruces and firs. The only problem I see is that people are focused on “the Whites”. They have an [...]
